Default 02 w 30k mileage or 04 w 43k?

I'm leaning toward the 04 but the 02 sill has warranty til 100k. However I do want to chip it so it's pretty much void the warranty, right?

Feedback on which one I should get please.

Thanks.

ok first before i really get into what the differences are, is the 02 a 2.7 or the 4.2
from the way you talk sounds like it is a 2.7, i love the way the interior looks of the b6's and has some nicer features. Now if you want more power for your money get the 2.7, but for looks and comfort i would get the 04.

Um...those two cars should be almost identical. Are they both manuals? I think I would def go with the 02 and the warranty!

Yeah the 02 is 2.7. As far as performance goes, with a APR chip the 02 is not even where the stock 04 is right?

Also, it seems like the distance from the clutch pedal to the floor on S4 is rather huge (comparing with the WRX). Is it adjustable for small Asian foot? It seems like I have to work harder to switch gear or perhaps I'm not used to it yet.

The 2002 with a chip will be faster than the 04 with the stock v8 or even v8 with a chip too id think.

I would get the b5 (2002) especially because it was made late int he production cycle and it has low miles. That is assuming its a manual though.

Is there any known issue with automatic 02 model? I test drove it and it was decent I thought (the instant power with no lag like my WRX) but obviously when I test drove the manual 04, I would get more control

I also mentioned it's an automatic to my buddy and he said he wouldn't get an auto S4. After driving manual for ~ 7 years I guess I'm a bit tired, especially with traffic everywhere.

Are there any happy automatic owners out there?
