Default 10 Hour exhaust Job??? Really?

I took my 2000 S4 down to a foreign car garage to get my piggies installed. He first told me that he needs to drop the whole front end off my car to get the downpipes out.Is that the normal procedure? Then a couple of days later he told me that it was about 10 hours worth of work for the whole thing.
He also said that when he cleared my codes I still had the 18042 P1634 Accelerator Pedal Pos. Sensor 2 Signal too high, which is throwing the car into limp mode. The car was definetely not in limp mode when I drove it to the shop.
Just wondering if the exhaust job could be at all related to the code that he's getting.

You just got royally screwed...

Ifwhomever dropped the front subframe your alignment is F'd now. You need to get your car aligned, as for the four main screws for the front subframe are loosened, and the entire subframe is moved/adjusted to align the front end, and I can only betthey didn't know that or didn't realign the car after doing so.

It's only ok to drop the back two boltsof the subframe, not the whole thing.

yeah thats BS i did it in my backyard on a summer day... lift the front end of the car.. (from the engine bay) remove the airbox and all piping. then unscrew the coolant container and move it to the side...(under the car) remove exhaust. unscrew bottom DP screws. then from engine bay unscrew top dps screws. and then pulling the DPs out is a hassle. but they wiggle out from under the car
