Default 2000 S4 6spd.. Only 16MPG when driving conservatively..

This is really strange.. I can't type in the original body of this post.. Every time I type it in then hit the OK button it brings me to "page can not be displayed" and does edit the page.. Yet the original post of "asdfasdf" went through fine.. any suggestions? :S

I'm worried because when driving conservatively with about 75% highway, 25% city at sea level I am only averaging 16.5MPG... The LCD display on my cluster is out so I can not view the moment to moment MPG or any notices.

Also when I am accelerating in 1st gear there is a vibration between 1500 and 1800 RPM's that lasts about 1 second...

Have you scanned it for codes?

Josh

And the forums are being retarded right now. I can't post any new topics. Only reply to them.

you have about 85k miles on your car, have the O2 sensors been replaced? Even if they're not throwing codes, they are hugely responsible for fuel economy and if they're on their way out, you might see the effects of it in your gas mileage.

As stated above, i would check your O2 sensors. In addition when was the last time your spark plugs have been changed?

Are you baseing your mpg off of the display or are you actually recording your miles at each fill up? The display is not accurate. Mine is at least 2 mpg off (although it says it higher than it actually is).
