2000 Stage 3 on its way!!!
Just ordered everything for my 2000 S4 TIP. I ordered the stage 3- kit.
Any recomendations on what to do when I install them?
Also here is why I ordered it.
It started at the track when I put some race fuel in the car. At the end of the track my cats were glowing red. Ever since then, I make test pipes and got rid of the pre-cats, and now I get alot of blue smoke with a hint of sweet smelling smell to it. I think I might have a bad headgasket as well.
Could this be true? I dont see any AF disappearing though. And I cannot see any in my oil as well. Any ideas on this one?
Thanks

The sweet smell could possibly be anti-freeze caused by a blown headgasketand depending on where the gasket is blown it might not force anti-freeze into your oil. Is the sweet smell coming all the time or just when you run race fuel?

the blue smoke is burned oil. you might have a small oil leak in your turbos, regardless you are burning oil and if its the thicker blue smoke you should figure it our soon. You said you are going to be installing the stage 3 kit, I would use that opputunity to check the gaskets and any other way oil might get into the system. good luck with the stage 3 and get ready to upgrade your transmission.
Edit: Forgot to add. You might be burning some coolant from the engine or turbos. how exactly does it smell sweet?

Pull the cold pipe off the turbo, check for oil in the pipe, on the cold side of the turbo and where the pipe connects to the intake. If you find oil in any of those 3 places it is a good chance you have bad turbo seals.

One other way is you can check you inner coolers. Take off one of the bottom hoses and check and see if there is a ton of oil in there..Now keep in mind that even a car with good turbos can still have oil in the innercooler..The other thing to do is to pull off one of the Dp's that will let you know if there is oil comming out the back seal...not only that but you can check the exhaust wheel for play
