2001.5 identification
How can I identify a 2001.5 model from a 2001 or a 2002? That is, without digging into the engine compartment and measuring oil line diameters. I've been searching the forums and one person came up with different badging on the 2001.5 model, a big S instead of the 3-squares-logo.
I'm testdriving a 2002 model, currently. Would a 2002 mean I definitely have the newer lines, etc.? Although the VIN indicates it's a 2002, it was apparently built in "01 05" according to the sticker in the driver door, taken into service on Nov 2001 according to Carfax. And it has the new logo, with the larger "S".

RE: 2001.5 identification
Easiest ways to tell are the badges both onthe front girl and the back trunk. And vnv727 is right, generally manufacturers will release a model line early. Ive heard a general rule is anything with a date after march or so 01 is an 01.5+
