The neuspeed is what the majority of owners (me included) are using - with great results.

RE: 2001 S4 warranty
do u think it is wise to put same setting as yours on a car with otherwise stock suspension?
did u purchase yout GIAC X chip with $50 option for stock setting?
does GIAC chip switches between modes with Cruise control buttons, or it is only one setting?

RE: 2001 S4 warranty
I'd go with the middle setting first and see how you like it.
No, I did not get the option. I have another stock ecu for swapping back to stock mode.
IIRC, the switch is attached to a remote keyfob. Only APR uses the cruise control buttons AFAIK.

RE: 2001 S4 warranty
is this switching hardware goes as addition to regular chip, or substitutes it completely? i mean is it $595 (GIAC X) + the kit price, or the kit includes everything including CPU? their website does not really shows the pic. it seems like a small box, data cable and remote... which confuses me.
is there difference in performance between those chips/settings?

RE: 2001 S4 warranty
The performance should not be any different.
CPU? Data cable? I think you're referring to the new system - the GIAC Flashloader (like the Revo flashing software) - which enables the user to flash back and forth and calibrate the mapping to their needs. BIf that's what you've been referring to, then I'm not clear on the price either. I am referring to the IBE (Intelligent Buswidth Expander) Chipswitch . That's much more like the APR switching software that uses the cruise control switch.
If you have further questions, call AWE (888.565.2257) and see what they say to these questions; they are a great bunch of guys.

i mean this thing....
http://www.giacusa.com/giac_products.php
i think it is simply different chip that is get put in to CPU... instead of regular GIAC chip, this one has two or more programs in it, and responds to remote...

RE: 2001 S4 warranty
Yeah... That's the regular chip with the chipswitch in a remote (much like a car alarm remote) that you keep on your keyring. The chip is soldered onto the ecu as usual; it has a few extra programs. You access the programs via the chipswitch remote. A nice safety feature prevents you from switching the programs while the car is running.
