Hey there guys 'n' gals.

I am building up a race car using the BBK 4.2 V8, but I am struggling to find a full tech spec on it. if anybody can help I will be so greatful.

I need:
how the variable cam timing works, what the changes areand at what rpm,
When the variable inlet manifold cuts in
A rating on all the fuses for the car.

Any other specs for the engine would be fantastic

Oh and any serious tuners for that engine???

your joking of course if you were a serious driver you would know how the VCVT works

I wasn't being sarceyI was merely pointing out how difficult your question was,I believe the answer could only be achieved through rolling road tests or data logging with VAG.

VCVT is very complicated but as you probably know that already

yep your right there mate they stopped making them in 2002 but that doesn't mean they didn't use and engine for an early 2003 when the S3 took its place just a thought

No boys I'm on about the BBK engine (4.2 V8) not the V6 Turbo. So dwcs4 you can give me the specs or don't you have them????

Just because I am new it doesn't mean you have to look down your noses at me.

The S44.2 with the BBKwas made in 2003 because I have them in my workshops.

Just to give you guys an idea we are building a gt car with this engine weighing 800kg or 1760 lbs with alot of carbon, titanium and inconel.

Any help would be with the specs will be fantastic...
