Default 2005 s4 coils failiure update..

Hi

Wasnt sure if I was supposed to reply to my own previous post or do this new one - sorry I a brand newbie!!! lol Anyhow - Following my breakdown - RAC came next morning and found 8 faults!!! mainly coil related. Audi Roadside assist followed bout hour later and changed 2 of my coil packs - no. 2 and 8 and hey presto - runs perfecctly. Contacted Audi via the Dealer principle and he wants the car back Monday to replace all coil packs as he reckons a rogue engine steam clean may have affected the coil packs - so be warned... Also couldnt offer enough apologies and is going to lend me a courtesy car for the day which is at least as good as mine (they have a 6 litre w10 a8L quattro in!!!!) and give mine a thorough going over. Also talk of recompense for my embarrasing breakdown!!! ££moollarr££

So guys and gals - dont get yer motor to wet...

Off out for a blast up them moors now

Later dudes

Stu

if your cleaning your engine I recommend hot steam clean when engine is hot and cold when engine is cold for obvious reasons, when cold a jet wash is ok but leave it for a couple of hours to dry out "you could also use a water repellent on vital part before you start

only reason I say this is because many o2 sensors have been damaged due to temp shock which is the most common fail of this sensor apart from going off road
