Hi, I'm new to this forum, getting ready to buy a new S4 cabriolet. Have found a lot of helpful information on this site - thank you all!

I've never owned an Audi before, but have pretty much decided on this car. Am trying to figure out if there's any advantage in waiting for the 06 model year to come out. Haven't seen anything to suggest any significant improvements/upgrades, and the dealership doesn't seem to know much. Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated!

Personal preferance only. Do you like the look of the new one or the year older one. (B6 or B7) I drove the B6, a 2004 S4, great car, balance the price with your preference of having the new one and which one you like more. Is it cooler for you to have the newest one, or, is it cooler to have a considerably lower payment. Either way you have an incredible car and cant go wrong.

 

I was actually wondering if you had seen anything about an '06 S4. I've gone through the website in excruciating detail, and am in love with the B7, and am just about ready to get it. I'm just not clear if there's any significant upgrades coming out in the next few months with a possible '06 model. Can't find anything on the website, but one dealer told me they were coming out in a couple of months. Thanks!

Ok, I'm confused. Aren't the '05 and '04 the same? It's the '06 that is the B7, right? So is the '07 going to be a B8?

How about we just talk in terms of B6 and B7 and not include the actual years, so as to avoid the half years etd. I'm gathering that you are wanting the B7 and are considering the B6 cab.

So, what exactly are you asking again? They usually don't do any significant changes just after doing a model change, frankly, I'm surprised that the B6 was ran as short as it was. You'd think you'd get at least two years out of the B7.

Maybe I should have just not responded in the first place, all I did was run myself in circles. You want to know if there are any significant changes for the newest version of the B7 coming out in a few months. I've heard nor read anything. Unless you were looking at the new RS4, that was in the latest edition of Motor Trend among others.

 

Well, I figured out the answer to my question. Got a peek at the ordering sheets for the 2006 S4 Cab at my dealer. No body changes, but some price changes and different options...

Major changes:

Base price goes up about 450
Premium package goes up from 1000 to 1950, and now includes different 18" premium wheels
Rear seat heaters now an option

No more '05 S4 Cabs being made, any new orders will be '06 models.


I bit the bullet and got the new '05 S4 Cab - Arctic white with red interior and black top. Love it so far!!!

 

I'm pretty sure that the 04 is a B6 and the 05 is a B7. The B8 will come out....whenever they decide to modify the platform again. So as far as I know the 04 and the 05 are not the same. Though to be honest, the only real difference in the B6 and the B7 cosmetically is the front end. The bodies look very similar.

Can you please post pix of your S4 with red seats (interior pictures)? I am looking to buy a light metallic S4 with red seats, but have not been able to find a dealer that has one that I can see first.
