2010 s4
I heard the 2010 S4 was going with a Supercharged V6. What's up with Audi abadoning turbos? They bailed to the V8 and then dropped to the Supercharged V6 to save gas mileage. I'd think turbos will give you better efficiency compared to a supercharger.

Theres tons of threads all over the place about this. In the future speed will come through lightness and efficiency. The 3.0tfsi has a couple advantages over previous models. While the B5 was and is great fun, it was only 250 HP stock and audi had to deal with alot of warentee repairs for turbos. The V8 that replaced added TQ and HP but also brought weight. While the 3.0tfsi makes less peak HP and TQ than the outgoing v8 it has much more area under the curve which will make the car quicker. This V6 will also trim some weight off of the nose heavy S4 and improve handling.
The most important benefit to Audi is the improved fuel economy. By fitting this into the S4, A5, TTRS, A6, and Q7 audi can vastly improve their fleet fuel economy.
More importantly the new S4 is the complete package, faster, balanced, and better handling than an S4 before
