29 MPG???
My friend has an s4, well actually he has one and his mom has one. One's a 2002 s4 stick, and the other is the 2002 auto. He is claming that he is getting 29 mpg average. This is what he's saying he's getting on both the auto and the stick. Keep in mind that these are also both completely stock S4's.
As Far as I know from all the sights I have seen, they all say that you get 24 mpg highway. And that's not even close to what he's clamming. So has anyone heard of S4's getting that many miles per gallon?

Yeah, that’s what I though because like I got the same MPG from different sources.
edmuns.com ~ Manual: 17 mpg/ 23 mpg
Automatic: 17 mpg/ 24 mpg
carsdirect.com ~ City: 17.0 mpg
Highway: 23.0 mpg
fueleconomy.gov ~ MPG (city) 17
MPG (highway) 24
They all are the same.
I know cars like the 1998 A4 can get 32 mpg highway.
But still my question is. Has anyone Ever Heard of a stock, 2002 Audi S4 (either stick or auto) getting 29 mpg?
And what do you guys get on average with your S4's? He believes that all those numbers are fake and wrong, so I want some real S4 drivers answers to what’s their MPG.
Thanks

i'm getting 20-26 on my 3.0 so there is no way he can get that high unless he is high.

The reason chipped cars get better milage is because of the way the torque curve is maniplated. Peak fuel economy occurs at the torque peak in the highest gear. The chips and turbos usually shift that more towards the upper range of the rpm scale.
