Default 400 whp

Im just curious what it takes to get these cars up to 400 whp, i know with my wrx, it takes new turbo, intercoolers etc. But do these cars neeed new trannys with it, maybe new internals, or does it come pretty much ready in those sense. Also how much would I be looking at. Im talking about a 2001-02 s4, the type im planning to get in the spring. thanks alot.

Might as well throw on some downpipes and full exhaust for good measure.

How much would it cost though, to get the ko4 turbos, and everyting, that seems so simple to do compared to a rex for that power, Im guessing the tranny and internals of this car are very strong if they need no modding for it. By internals I mean pistons, rods etc, not like intercoolers, obv you need that for more air flow to the turbos. thanks.

A very small percent of people know how to do it and/or have the tools needed to do so. Even wihtout installation, since you dont know much you wont be doing homebrew, so ull be getting an off hte shelf stage III kit, which is around 6500, then exhaust 1000, intercoolers 1500+, dp's 1500 (or piggies - 500), so its around 10 k wihtout installation if you plan to do it yourself.

yeah - I'm in the process of shelling out at least 11.5 (incl instalation) for Ko4s, fueling kit, downpipes, exhaust, UG intercoolers, Stage 3 clutch, Samco hoses, drive stabalizer, new air intake, snub nose and such - not happy about the expense (as I've already sunk too much into this car) - though looking foreward to the performance boost. (have speced nearly all AWE - but may go APR or Autospeed as AWE not giving any special pricing etc - long story - already have UG DVs, short shifter, suspension etc) I'm being forced into the work because of a turbo going out...I could replace it with stock for less - but still for too much $$ IMO. My wife is furious and wants me to sell the car...I've really spent far too much on this car already - I love it to death - but....it is not cheap (nor reliable at all - IMO). In my mind its not an option to just go back with stock - even if somewhat cheaper. I just hope that once I do the work the car does not start falling apart on me (again).

I'm under the impression that with AWE fuel kit, downpipes, intercoolers etc that I should be getting about 450 hp to the crank on 93 octane...slighly less (425hp?) with APR kit (as it uses RS4 fuel kit whcih has lower flow limit). I'm sure that there are variables depending on car and instalation...
