Default Air conditioning and ECON swtich won't turn off

Can someone shed some light on why I can't get the ECON switch to turn OFF.
The manual says press the ECON button to turn it on, and press it again to turn it off. Not Rocket science if you ask me! It does not want to shut off and the weather is getting warm.

I havean early 2004 production model s4. Seems like many electrical hickups are starting to appear.

It might just have some gunk on it and got stuck. Even if it doesn't appear sticky it could be. It happened to me on my b5. It eventually popped out again after a day, but try cleaning it and it should do the trick. Good luck

Would the ECON stay on if there is a problem with the air conditioning.. i.e. Low charge, or faulty compressor, etc.???
