Another chip question
Despite the fatigue of this question that I'm sure the senior members feel, I really need advice... I have a Dolphin Grey 2008 s4: full millitek, hyperflow intake, H&R springs and I LOVE it. However, my car evidently is cursed with a complex ECU that none of the major players in chip software can crack.. I've tried OCT( favored by dealership but not possible per company), APR (waiting weeks), Revo (still working on it).. Today I found out that GIAC cracked the code and can finish the job. That means GIAC now or wait (indefinitely?) for REVO?
I prefer REVO but am not at all confident that they are committed to getting me up and running any time soon.. And I'm tired of being unintentionally jerked around.
For the record, My days are spent between 0-100 MPH around town. Very infrequently at track.
Looking forward to any learned advice. Thanks in advance.

on the n/a v8 there is only so much more power that you can get with a chip.. to be the most happy with upgrades you are going to have to do some tangible physical changes.. whether it be porting and polishing your intake or just running a nice cat back exhaust.. i think with a chip at most youll get like 5 to 12 bhp or something nominal like that..id sink my money into an exhaust.. i think youll definatley appreciate the sound as well as the noticable performance...
Sorry if i wasnt clear.. I have a full millitek exhaust: down pipes/highflow cats, etc. As well as an intake. Now looking for final piece (chip) to realize full potential..
Agree, exhaust sounds absolutely unreal. Love it. I put 11K miles on my car in 7 months and live five miles from work.

jhmtuning. Jay is working on quite a few options for the s4 v8 community. You can email him directly from the website or check him out on audizine.com (jaybequick) or something like that. jhm is putting up 80% of their R&D towards the b6 and b7 chassis. I wouldn't be suprised if you inquired about yours to them. They are working on long tube headers, exhaust, light weight rotors, i think even looking into internal head work (port and polish) but don't quote me on that. The whole audizine community is restless over all of jhm's newest parts coming out. They are striving to break into the 12's with a full interior N/A S4 by the end of 2009. I can't wait.
jhmotorsports or vast looks very much like the k04 tune that im going to use on my b5.. so i wouldnt doubt that they are at the top of your list for a b6 or b7 program for your ecu.. it seems like they have plenty of fanfar on youtube and the creds to back it up.. i still cant get ahold of marc so im definitely using a jhm tune or a vast tune for mine.
I have a JHM tune and several parts on my car. Vast installed the tune and I installed the parts. I saw the headers in person and all I can say is WOW. The JHM tuned cars all are head and shoulders faster then the other CANNED tunes out there. I must say Vast and JHM IMO are customer and performance driven. They seem to be less concerned with profit and more interested in performance
