Default Any experience with aftermarket warranties?

I am considering purchasing an aftermarket warranty, if you have any experiences you'd like to share, good or bad, please do so. Also, which company did you use? The company I am considering is INDS, which is also affiliated with Warranty Direct. Any experiences with either of these would be greatly appreciated.

No experience with either one of those Prizm Administrative Solutions Inc, is currently screwing me over right now. $2000 warranty, my first claim, they end up paying like 20%. I don't want to get started because I will just get pissed off. To top it off they won't even return my calls. I would read all the fine print pertaining to that warranty....

I got one on my S4 from Great Lakes Warranty Company. It has been pretty good. It cost me about 2500 bucks and it is unlimited mile for 24 months,( you can get up to 4 or 5 years though for more money) but my syncros went out and they paid for the new tranny. I had to pay the 100 deductable and some fluids that werent covered. I ended up paying like 400 but I got a brand new tranny and clutch. But the car is back in the shop right now with an oil leak and a motor mount is gone completely. The oil leak is all over the timing belt so I might beable to get the timing belt done for free since the oil leak is causing it to weaken. Anything that is broken because of a gasket that failed (the gasket has to be covered in the warranty) will be replaced also. The warranty also covered any single turbo housing, including all internal parts that require lubracation. And since my turbos are making the infamous cricket noise, I might get them both replaced also.

The only draw back is that you have to find a shop that will take an aftermarket warranty. Most dealerships wont take one. But since you have to take it to little shops, you can generally get them to talk the warranty company into covering almost everything. And since I helped out this shop by telling them about an Audi auto salvage place to get parts from, they are going to try and get everything I need covered.

Good luck, I havent heard of INDS so cant really help you there.

Thanks for the replies! On the Great Lakes, what are they paying for labor rate? I had a bad company before that wanted to pay out only $40/hr to work on a BMW!! Good luck! ...and they wanted to use used coolant system parts like a used water pump!

Thanks for the input, glad that you have had good luck with them so far! I do see that they have a lot of exclusions, with control arm bushings and cv boots, stuff that I am worried about for our cars. I think the current Audi labor rate is close to $90 up here, dealer anyway.
