Anyone done the PES SC for B6/B7
I see they're readily available now, stage 1+ for around $8500 (465hp). Anyone installed one? I'm concerned about the loud whine, the power gain not being worth it, and finding an experienced installer. And the cost, of course - that's still pretty pricey.
Turbos for the B7 are coming, sort of... Grabbed this off of another forum - from JHM:
"This is a long term project since we have already found that the rods in these motors are weak and it just doesn't make sense to put this on stock motors with the massive power potential. Bottom line it just doesn't make sense for our customers to put that much money into the install of such a twin turbo kit with a stock motor and then detune the heck out of it and keep the boost at a very conservative level. Or just blow the rods out of it the first time you jump on it. We aren't comfortable taking peoples money in that situation. With that being said once we finalize the mock up on that car we will be building a motor with rods and pistons that we had custom built and will be selling. Once the motor is done we will begin finalizing tuning and figuring out the best setup and see if just rods and pistons are enough or we need to spend a large chunk on sleeving the block. Only time will tell and yes we are willing to boost this car until the cylinder walls burst with a strong set of our rods and pistons in there. Who knows, the all aluminum cylinder walls may be plenty strong, so far they have done really well with the nitrous.
So this kit probably won't be finalized until we have done at least 2 or 3 with motor builds. At this point I would say 95% if not more of B6/B7 S4 owners are not ready for motor builds since this kit is over kill for our stock motors, so by the time we are ready for it to come in kit for with a motor built to our specs it will be when people are ready to get nasty with the B6/B7 S4s. In the meantime we have a little secret product to bridge the gap that should come out this year. Of course if anyone is VERY serious about this now and they can get the car to us (Northern California), or our friends at VAST in Detroit Michigan we can build one of these. We will be comfortable before years end for such a build if a customer insists. Call us at 209-968-0077 if you are one of those guys. We are very patient and do not believe in selling products that we have tested thoroughly on our cars and on customers cars who insist on being one of the first."
