APR ECU upgrade sale?
I have been looking for an upgrade Chip for my 2000 S4 tip since a month. Today, I ran into goapr.com and 'sale' on their website. Like a little kid on Halloween, I figured lets check it out...
I called them and they have an offer of $599 which includes the race/91/93/valet/security features as a total package with a one day turn-around time. (BTW: Customer service was impressive and straight forward with no 'bull').
My question to you guys/gals, what do you think of this deal?

its cheap but if you stay on here long enough youll get a much better hook up... i was on here for a month and i got the apr ecu with a stock program, 93 octane program (315 bhp and 360 torque) and then the race gas tune for about 375... and it works perfectly...
i got hooked up with marc at 10secs4.com.. he may have another program that you can use.. he had a GIAC as well and asked if i wanted it.. the only reason i didnt is because my APR program is accessible and has the ability to change by the cruise stalk instead of a labtop... i have heard that GIAC is a little more aggressive than APR...
I have APR, the cruise controll switching is OK (untill you break the button from holding it too much, im not kidding either) but its definitly NOT the best chip out there.
APR has given up on the b5 platform, you should give your money to a company that is going to continue to develop new parts for us.
And why would you want race, 91, 93, stock, valet, and lockout anyway? Your never going to use all of them. If you have 93 where you live youll never use the 91 craptane tune and vica versa. Race mode is fun, but how often do you use 100+ octane fuel? You have to fill up with race gas specifically to use this tune anyway so the quick switching option is useless, its not like your gonna be driving down the road and see a lambo and all the sudden you can have race gas, it takes planning.... I never really understood the valet mode because, 1. its only a $10,000 300HP car, if you have a widebody and $30000 of motor work go for it then 2. Iv never been anywhere with valet parking, 3. i can park my own car and walk to the front door. The lockoutmode is usefull if you live in NJ..... thats about the only place S4's get stolen. Even then if you live in NJ i would reccomend doing a whole lot more than a lockout mode, switching ECU's isnt very difficult if you really wanna boost the car. Theives ave been doing that with other cars for quite some time
Thats just my analysis, APR sucks dick and theyre enticing you to buy their crappy under engineered product by offering you lots of **** you dont need. Ever seen an infomercial? Buy now and you get not 1 but 4 different modes!!!!!!!!

i agree to a point.. i have 3 programs on my apr ecu.. stock (for the wife) 93 octane (for me daily driving) and race fuel (for the drag strip or a road course)... i like that setup and i use it regularly.. 91 octane makes no sense and neither does the valet.. i have heard that a stage 2 tune from GIAC or jhmotorsports would be much stronger...
