I was looking for some advice. i am looking at a 2000 sudi s4 black on black 6spd. It has 56,000 miles on it and i was woundering if it is a good buy for 12000 i know it was in an accedent (side swiped no frame damage) so i had it checked out by a mechanic and he said that everything was fixed properly. i am worried about the turbos and maitinace on the car. what is the aproximent life on turbos and how expensive are they to replace? Is the it an expensive car to maintane? Has anyone had any major problems with the car?

Freakin 2000 S4 with 56k miles black on black 6spd for only 12k? If it was fixed right and to my satisfaction I would snag that sucker up like no other. The ONLY down side to Audis IMO is the fact that everything is so freakin crammed into the engine bay that it's hard to work on stuff. Most expensive thing for me is insurance/car payment.

Bottom line, if you are happy with it, do it.

I was where you are now a few months ago. Though there was no damage to the S4 I was looking at, I was still hesitant to part with $18,000 for a 2000 model. I bit the bullet and did it and let me tell you it was the best decision could have made. I have never had as much fun with a car as I do in my S4. Maintainence is a concern but if it bothers you (like it did me) I suggest you look into an aftermarket warranty. I bought a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty with a 0 deductible for 1150 and the company is A+ rated. I havent had to use it yet but it is a great comfort to me knowing its there if I need it. If the body damage has been properly repaired 12k is a steal. Good luck!

 

heres the way i seee it.

as long as it was repaird well, paint matches, rides good, no frame damage then hell take it

with the 6k saved u can buy ko4s (2500) , have them installed (1500), get a exhaust/pigges (1000), and software (600) and then a valentine1 (400).

voila, theres ur answer haha. closed book in my oppinion.


and if the trend continesu like on this forum and autotrader, whatever the upgrades cost, brings up the market value by that price.
say the 00 stage 3 for sale here, it would be worth 11-12k, its got everything done to it probably cost 10k, hes selling it for 20500.
theres a yellow 01 for sale in ny, its got 80 or so miles, stage 3, for sale for 23000, if was stock would be 14-15k. the 8 k tag for stage 3 is built in.
