I have a 2001 B5 S4 stock (as far as I know) exceppt for an APR Bi Pipe

I am still trying to decide if a previous owner has chippped the car.

In the US the stock speed limiter is at 143 mph, I tried to surpass this last weekend but due to the uphill nature of the section of road i was traveling on I was unable to break 140...

how else can I tell is the car had been chipped?

I know if it is runnign an APR proogram the CEL will flash when the car is started, it dooes not however, what is the standard method to switch the car into a chippped mode?

other manufacturers?

any other suggestions...

as far as i knew it was limited at 155.... you could look at the actual chip itslef.... prob your best bet. Otherwise do you have a boost gauge.. how much boost are you running.. or run a vag through it...

best bet is the boost guage... i blv stock is like 8 PSI.
the APR 91 program Im running holds at like 15 psi.

If you do physicaly look at the ECU & dont see a soldered chip - it could be
that it was just flashed.

 

Agreed with above. Stop going 140 MPH to figure out if its chipped. That's going around your elbow to get to your ***.

 

HAHAHAHAHA the 140 was unrelated...and 155 is the limit in Europe, US is 143.

and i did have it vag comed and nothing came up, i also pulled the ecu and it looked as though it had never been pulled before...
