I searched and found nothing on this topic. Me thinks it would be a good post to have up about various exhausts and their pros and cons.

Im in the market for some exhaust for my 01 B5 S4. I had NEUSPEED's cat back exhaust on A4 and didnt really like the note and barely noticed a power gain.

What are some really good exhausts for the S4; ones with a great note and HP gains you can feel. I was looking at Borla but have no idea what it sounds like and its HP spread was 7-10% (which sounds like BS).

My car is chipped with two DVs. 10% would be a nice increase, if its true.

i've got the borla, it's got a nice sound to it. but IMO, the best way to get an amazing sounds is to get aftermarket downpipes. i've got autospeed, and as soon as i started the car, the sound was just amazing. i'd start by getting asp's catback, then the dps. or if yo ucan, get them all at once. i'd like to change my borla catback to asp's catback sometime soon hopefully

 

Do you notice any more power?

its a tru dual exhaust all the way back -
but defenitely great if u can get the ASP DPs w/ it...

there are some #s posted on the ASP site i blv...
but not sure how accurate.. I defenitely noticed more low end torque & pull...
Im sur eits more noticeable w/ the DPs though...

 

For Turbo sound nothing beats DP's!

I noticed a little after doing the cat back. The car seamed to rev a little smoother & faster.
It was nice to be able to HEAR the car. The burble on downshifts is just, well, I'll never put
on another exhaust.

As far as HP gains, I really noticed when I put in the ASP DP's. The car just "woke up".
Much faster turbo spooling, pulls much harder up top.

But some of that might also be due to the cat back + the DP's.

I'm very happy with my ASP stuff. If I were to do it again, I would go ASP, again!

 

Where can I find ASP products? I searched them on the interweb and found nothing.

I have the AWE tuning exhuast twin 1.... the louder and more aggresive one... it has a Amazing tone.... good power... i am very happy with it...

i have the milltek true dual. sounds great, i love it. cant wait to hear what it sounds like when i get some DP's. however, ive been looking at the labree's through tantrum motorsports. they look good to me, i like the bolt in test pipes that come with em'...major selling point. thoughts???
