Only problem that I have had is the driverside Turbo failed. I bought mine certified used and it only cost me $50 and they replaced both turbos to boot. If you are nervous I'd say buy a certified one and not have a worry in the world for 2 years. Thats my opinion and experience talking so take it for what its worth. Great car imo, and good luck in your searches.

yea i would get the warranty. If its just the turbos maybe i should get one iwth more miles liek 100,000 on it. And then buy a warranty for it from where ever i buy it. I owuld like it it my mechnaic could do the service for the warranty so i could pay him extra to replace things better liek clutch with a RS4 and teh turbos with K04. I would just pay him the difference.

Excuse my ignorance.. but I know there is a post in audiworld (sorry I dont have the link)
that has alist of common problems that lead to the common turbo failure - ie: f hose, TBB etc. etc.
basic things to look for when byuing an S4. basic maintenance and upkeep will do wonders.

I bought my 2002 S4, certified used and it has always ran very well. The only thing I have had a problem with is the bose stereo. It kept frying amps? Took it in and they finally found out it was the retard who owned it before me. Did his own install and crossed some wires. My parents have a 2000 s8 with 125.000 miles on it and it has never seen the inside of an audi service center. I beleive they are good cars. My 0.2 cents. Good luck

Don't forget about the insurance, that is a large cost esp. for a 17yr old.
