S4 would win stock. I beat my friend in his Z at the stip but not sure which model he has just know its stick. too many models with that car. and Im almost postive an S4 would beat the 98 M3.
An M3 has 10 less horsepower and is like 400 LBS lighter with less drive train loss. It would be close but the M3 is most likely going to take it VS a stock B5 S4.

98 m3 would be close but S4 would pull out very nicely at higher speeds because of the 6th and nice tight gearing from 4th-6th

I have a co-worker (boss actually) who just bought a 2007 350Z Enthusiast Model. I've got a 2000 S4. I should see if I can talk him into a race while we're both still stock. According to the specs my S4 is 0-60 in 5.6 seconds, where his car makes it in 5.4. That's really close and well within the margin for driver error.

You guys do realize a chipped s4 is stage 1 not stage 2 right......?

i think stock vs stock would be prett close...probably a slight edge to teh Z... but drivers woudl matter.. A chipped should take it .... My good buddy had a Z and i would blow away from him..of crouse stage 3 is a different story and isnt really applciable here.

C'mon Sooks it would take one helluva Z to beat you.....ha!

Before I was chipped I raced a newer model Z that looked and sounded stock up my hill from about 15mph to about 60mph. He didn't catch me til the next light, when he flipped me off and turned right...I wonder if I surprised him and he started in the wrong gear, I expected alot closer race (possibly ending with me losing).

Best part is I'm pretty sure he needed to go striaght through the light to get home....wonder where he went?

Why on earth would he flip you off? I thought racing was for fun :/ If you don't want to be embarrased don't rev your engine next to an Audi [8D]

Words to live By!

You know, I don't know....my wife and I looked at each other and went "huh" and as he was turning he made some funny moaning/dying animal sound out the window, strange.

Z's are great cars, but since their initial release, they've slowly been gaining weight, with MINIMAL horsepower increases. The new ones weigh in around 3600lbs! Tubby tubby.
