Just curious if a maxed out a4 can beat out a stock s4 in the same generation. Saw a fairly modded a4 in the lot last night...looked pretty sweet.

 

you should prolly be aboe to take it. There are some real fast ones with superchargers and upgraded turbos and what not, but if its only fairly modded, u should beat him.

 

No, a maxed out A4 1.8T wont beat a stock 4.2 V8 S4. Go test drive a one and you will see what I mean. A 1.8T four banger with mods in the end is still small motor. .

 

don't forget about the 3.0 litre. if you do intake/full exhaust chip and supercharger, an a4 has more hp than a stock 4.2

 

There are alot of 1.8T A4's making 300whp on this site soooooo yes the 1.8 can own a stock S4. Hell a K04'd 1.8T will own a stock S4

 

How much HP TQ does a KO4 1.8T make? like 260hp 290tq ish? I dont see how thats gonna beat a stock S4 which is 344HP 302 TQ even with the weight difference.

 

Yea beer, i dont know about own... but theres a chance it would beat it. They can be pretty quick, but they dont have the potential to demolish an s, unless you have quite a bit invested into it.

 

I think you would need a big garret turbo with all the supporting mods to own an S4

 

1.8T no way.
European car did a 1.8t tune-off article where all of the the top tuners from the aftermarket build their fastest A4 1.8T. There was about 10 cars from the aftermarket companies and not one of thoes cars posted numbers that would beat Audis published specs on the B6 S4 and I am talking about typical Audi conservitive numbers for the S4. If the top aftermarket companies could'nt do it then there is no chance a consumer will.
