B6 S4 Supercharger Coming in Dec. GET READY!!
AMD is the way to go. http://www.amdtechnikusa.com/s4.asp . I have an 04 S4 with AMD stage 1 chip and stratmosphere hyper flow, short shifter and I'm very pleased with the results. Theoretically I should have 395HP, although I have not put it on a dyno. I will be doing the AMD stage 3 this month, they are coming out with 2 3/4 piping. I also have IFORGED Swift 19x8.5 wheels on Michelin PS2's. I have replaced the springs with H&R stage II springs and replaced the sway bars for H-sport kit. RIDES CRAZY!! [:@]
To answer your question about the supercharger AMD is coming out with a supercharger kit that will fit the S4 nicely by taking out the intake manifold if I'm not mistaken. There are two stages, Low Blow and High Blow. the low blow is good for about 500hp (no intercooler) and the High Blow which requires an intercooler will be over 600HP and it arrives in US in December. I believe the cost will be about $10,000
I'm personally going with the Low blow kit first. I'll let you know guys know how it all turned out once I kick my bro's E55 to the ground.

Um if it replaces the intake manifold then its a roots or screw type supercharger. both those superchargers have intercooler built in under the rotors. they call them heat exchangers and instead of cooling them with air they are cooled with antifreeze. which does abetter job of cooling the air but you better make sure that you dont run dry.
OMT i didnt see anything about a supercharger on that website

How did you come up with 395hp? According to the website a stage one chip only adds 20hp, add that to the 340chp and you have 360chp. Am I missing something?
I am seriously considering buying a 06/07 S4 so I am looking at all the power modifications available. I am also considering a 06/07 RS4 so I want to make sure I get the best bang for the buck since there is about a 15k difference between the two models.
If I can go with an S4 and get it to the same power level as the RS4 and keep some coin in my pocket, then I will probably go that route, if not then RS4 it is ..........
I know this is an old thread but I am just curious.

This thread is beyond old....
As for your question, it depends what you want. For either car, exhaust and chip are standard engine performance upgrade path. An S4 with an exhaust and chip won't be anywhere near the power level of a stock RS4. Exhaust and chip 4.2L S4 makes in the area of 365 - 370 bhp. An RS4 makes 420 bhp stock.
Superchargers are just now coming to market for both and look to be very promising. Though a SC upgrade will definitely run $9500 + for the entire package and won't include things like a full exhaust. So, for modding potential - these are very expensive cars to make serious power in. But they are definitely nice cars. In my opinion you can't go wrong with either an S4 or an RS4.

haha this was posted in 2004 and there still isnt an AMD supercharger. They deal alot with miltek though so thats probably the supercharger being refrenced in the OP
couple more years there might be a few superchargers out. Right now MTM has been available for a while but is like $20,000. VF & AWE have a package theyre putting together as we speak, others are doing the same

395 hp from a filter and a chip on a 4.2L? so your saying you picked up 55 hp from a chip and filter? I don't see that possible naturally aspirated. Those gains are turbo car chip numbers. Figure 10 hp from the chip, and 2-3 from the filter. 355 hp sounds right.
Now the supercharger kit sounds interesting, but hell you could go custom centrifugal charger or a custom turbo setup for less than $10k.
2004, are you serious. Wow I wouldn't have replied had I paid attention to the date... LOL.
RS4 is a slick ride. I'd still do a custom single turbo on it, custom tuning, blow through maf, front mount ic, big fuel pump and 60 lb or 72 lb/hr injectors, and meth injection. Easy 600 hp at like 9 psi. Not sure how much power the RS4 engine can take without beefing up the rods and pistons, but if I had the cash I'd build a bulletproof bottom end and run about 22 psi through it. 700-800 would be possible, and that car would be scary.
