Hey everybody,
was reading through the old posts and searching the web regarding the differences between the '05.5 and '06 S4... found some confusing info. I'd like some help clearing this up in my brain.
OK- if you guys have gone over this 3million times, I apologize. Should mention that I'm in Canada (we didn't get the '05.5 up here) but I'm looking to import. I mention this because I'm not sure if there were differences between the '06 up here and the '06 down there.
1. torque split is it 60 front or 60 rear? I've found evidence of both. And also of 50/50. I'm looking at the 6M specifically. Was told by a rep at the dealer that the '06 6M is 50/50. Holy confusion batman.
1. (part 2) How much should I care about the torque split? I plan to do some driver's education with the Porsche club next season with this car, but that'll likely be the extent of my on track driving.
2. daytime running lights... I've seen a little switch beside the headlight switch to turn DRL on or off. I've read that this started with the '06, but saw the switch in a picture of an '05.5 so I'm again confused.
3. Navigation system- does the '05.5 have the flip down screen to insert memory cards like I understand the '06 to have?
4. Any other interesting differences?

05.5 owner here so I can answer a few of these:

50/50 as far as I know, in both

I've never driven the 60/40 version but I hear it helps the handling a lot in that there is far less understeer
