Default B7 just quit on me

So I almost put up a post saying that my car just ran out of warranty, and start a pool as to what would break first. Then I thought, nah, better not; don't want any bad mojo.

So today I'm driving home from picking up a car for my daughter (my gf is in my S4) and the thing just quit on her. The engine light came on for a second then it just quit. I got it towed back to my place and tried to reprogram the chip but it didn't make a difference. The starter works, the car may cough once or twice but that's it. It's like the gas isn't flowing.

Taking it to the dealer tomorrow and I'm sure whatever it is will cost $2K or more. For those looking through the forum for reliability clues, here's one for the strike column! Up until now it's been fine. Under warranty, of course.

Kinda odd for a B7 to just be crapping out like that. Did you even take it to the dealer just to have them figure it out? That might be a place to start. Just have those guys diagnose the problem, then take it to someone who's not going to take your daughter as payment.

fuel filter would be my first guess, then pump and clogged lines so forth. Sounds like a fuel issue but could also be ignition related (ie: plugs, windings)

Could be an Engine coolant temp sensor.

Oh happy day! I had the car towed to the dealer and I found out that my warranty is actually good for 100K miles! I just don't get the "free" maintenance after 50K. They said that there is no power flowing to the ECM. Parts are in on Wednesday - I'll post an update then. Thanks for the suggestions.

The car gods hate me. So I'm driving my daughter's car today since the S4 is in the shop. Half way to work it starts making this screeching noise; power steering goes out, starts overheating. Turns out the tensioner pulley is out and the belt got fried. Sigh (or I should say, Saab). $860 to repair (water pump went out too). So, I have 2 cars now but I'm driving a rental. Hondas are looking pretty good about now.

in all honesty i plan on buying a toyota tacoma for my daily once my signing bonus comes in. they may be "cheap" and "lame" but they sure do last a long time haha. sucks that youd get so much flack from such a new car.
