B8 S4
Thank god it will continuetobe a V8.
I love the body on the B8, but I think I am going to purchase the S5. Nothing beats a 2 door coupe especially, when it comes to styling.
It is certainly beautiful, but as I mentioned before, 2 doors is too much..... . ..... ... .. .. .

. . .... .... . . ...When this is available!

My mechanic thinks it is very logical to bring back the v6 engine for one big reason, the race TRACK. I don't mean the drag strip, I mean the turns and twist, what Audis are meant for. The B5 was great around the corners because it wasn't held back by all the weight of a V8. Once they brought the V8 to the track they weren't able to do as much in the turns because of all the weight in front. I like to listen to the guy because I love having the snails under my hood.

I heard from many mechanics as well that the additional weight from the 4.2 V8 up front wasent the best for the car. and pre maturely wears parts out. But I live in the country near many curvy mountain roads, and I must say when I took a 4.2 dark grey S4 Avant out after the new clutch job....It seemed perfect. sometimes scary, but great having never ending power.
I remember back when the b6 s4 wasn't released yet and a v8 was announced, Autoweek had a writeup about it saying the the v8 weighed less the the biturbo v6 due to the fact that the v8 is all aluminum, the the bt v6 has an iron block and alum heads. can't cite what issue it was though.
Its all relative. If it is a twin turbo v6 with somewhere near 370 HP stock, your easily going to be able to bring that well into the 400's with minimal work. try that with a 4.2 s4, you really cant do it as easily. They wont make it slower than the old s4. Nissan may have done that with the 350z but theres no way audi will do it with the most popular s car they make.
