Ballast and Headlight Help
I have a 2001 S4 and my passenger side ballast is dead. Just ordered new slim ballasts that came with D2S bulbs as well as D2S connectors. They came in last night and I had a chance to take them out of the box and inspect. It looks as though these D2S connectors are not going to fit into the OEM HID housing (those metal prongs that hold the bulb in place).
Here is the OEM connector -

And the aftermarket D2S connector resembles this but the red part is a lot less deep - like half less space for the prongs to grab then the one pictured below

Has anyone used these aftermarket D2S connectors? Did they stay in place securely? It's been raining here so I haven't had a chance to try installing yet, but wanted to ask anyway. Plan on getting at it tomorrow evening with my buddy.

I was able to take out both stock ballasts and replace with new slim ballasts from some chinese site I found. $75 for HID bulbs and brand new ballasts and all the wiring shipped to my door.
I also have two stock ballasts, one works and one does not. I will sell them for both for $100. Problem is I am not sure which one works anymore, so you need to do some testing.
Also getting everything in and out was a pain in the *** on the first headlight but the second was a breeze. You need the security torx wrenches though to remove the stock ballast.
