I can get Toyo Proxes 4 for $160 mounted and balanced. They have good ratings on tire rack. Anyone have any experience with these tires, or have any other recommendations for a tire to choose? I have a 2004 S4 with 18's and need some all season tires. They must be capable in the snow. Thanks.

Thanks for the response. I guess the Proxes 4 is just the new FZ4?

I just put ContiExtreme contacts on mine. I had them in the winter months on my 225 TT and they were awesome. I'll go back to the sumer tires in the spring, but these could really be used all year long. They are great in the snow.

Thanks for the info on the Conti's. I'll have to check those out, too. Just at a glance, the tread pattern looks a lot like the Proxes 4.

Check out Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S - high performance all seasons. I had them on my prior car (a subaru WRX) and they handled fantastically in both dry, wet and snow. At the time that I bought them they were the highest rated all season on Tirerack. You should check out Tirerack's surveys for more info. Now I have Dunlop wintersport M3s (snow tires) for the winter, but haven't yet driven them on snow. I suspect that they will do better on snow than all seasons.

I have michelin pilot sport a/s and they are very good tires i have had no problems and the tread wear on them is 400. They are just a little expensive.

I have had both the pirelli nero's and the Avon M550 A/S and I would highly suggest the Avon tires. They are great in the dry,wet and snow. I love them! And they are pretty cheap.

If you live in snow country, my recommendation is two sets of wheels, mounted with tires. easy to swap around, and you get twice the life out of them. I do that for my S4 and my BMW xti. Works wonders. I use Sumitomos in the summer, Dunlops in the winter. In the winter I could hitch a snow plow to my cars, and do driveways for a living. Think about it

I've thought about it. You could do driveways with an '87 Carrera? [8D]
