blauparts reviews?
hello,
i am the very happy fourth owner of a 1992 ur S4.
i have had good experiences with the local Audi dealer's service department.
they are even willing to install owner supplied parts.
they will only warranty their installation, not the parts. (does this not seem reasonable? with any warranty i expect to go to the responsible supplier of the product or service wouldn't you?)
this leads me to asking for information about Blaufergnugen Inc (aka. Blauparts).
i asked a nameless attorney to review the "Comprehensive Policy" posted on the Blaufergnugen website. the conclusion was there is a disconnect between "The products, services, or information on this site are provided on an 'as is' basis with no warranty." and "If you feel your circumstances allow for the consideration of warranty and you need a part for repairs, you must contact us first!"
i was advised to telephone the vendor for clarification.
i attempted to do this twice today during the vendor's published business hours, with no sucess. i was finally dumped out of hold without choice into voice mail for a call back.
now, i understand the online business model. no need for order takers, cs reps, toll free numbers, etc. etc. but this is a toll call, the business hours are all weekday prime time and i would expect being able to choose to wait however long it took to reach a live person. (i have worked on the other side of the counter.)
i need feedback on this vendor, before i commit to spending any money with them. the prices and selection are great, but my experience on the phone today indicates a vendor that does not have their act together. or is so overwhelmed that telephone customer service is non existant which even in the online world is not acceptable.
any feedback is very much appreciated.

Are you serious? Your asking for legal information about a vendor?
First off, you should not got the deal unless you have to, they are way over priced.
And sicne it seams like you are trying to save money, why have the most expensive
place do the labor? Especially for a 14yo car, do you think any of the techs have any
training on that car? I doubt it.
This is also the first time I have heard of a Dealer installing supplied parts. Yes, it's
not the dealers responsibility to warranty parts you bring them, think about it.
You seam more concerned about the warranty from Blau, then the part themselves.
I have ordered from them twice, they seam fine to me.
Only Blau parts can comment on what they warranty & how they cover it. Most of the time
on part warranty you have to pay for the labor for the old parts to come off, and then
for the new parts to be reinstalled.
If you are this concerned about it, GO TO A PLACE that both sells & installs, this
way you are covered on both aspects.

Ok everthing 2k said plus alot of workshops wont install supplied parts coz if the part (s) ends up being defective and causes injury/loss of life etc etc they shop will not be liable that did the install. Therefore if some thing does happen u are on u own!
So if u buy from somewhere and they do installs they will warranty work + parts.
They way round this is to ask the shop that is going to do the install if u can have the parts deliverd direct there and pay b4 hand
Tri some of these site 2?

I love Blau. They have a location 45 minutes from me, and their service is exceptional. The parts are usually very good prices, and they do very good work. And like they said, some shops will instal parts you supply, but they will warrenty the work only.
yeah blau parts has done great for me too. I'm just 30min away from them in Manitowac, so I can pick up my parts anytime and they almost always have them in stock, good pricing too, will match ecs or anyone else if you just them.
I ordered one of blauparts oil change kits, I was looking to do it this weekend so I paid the extra 25 dollars for 2 day shipping. After placing my order I received a phone call from them stating that basic ground will actually get it to me the next day and that they refunded my 25 dollars back to my card. This is the first company that has ever done this for me and I was shocked. For a company to take the time to do this is almost unheard of now days. I would recommend them to everyone and they get full stars for excellent customer service!
