BMW 550 vs S6
I spent the past few weeks comparing both and just ordered the Audi s6 (even though I am currently a very satisfied BMW 330xi owner):
1. I test drove both several times; the s6 has much better responsiveness and acceleration, glues to the road (you can really feel it) and gives you much more excitement.
2. The Quattro AWD is saferin winter weather(and in other cases as well). The 550 does not have x-drive (which is inferior to quattro anyway).
3. The BMW interior is sleek and sophisticated... but too much so. The s6 gives you a friendlier experience (good if you use your car for something else than racing).
4. My kids tell me there is more space for them in the back. The specs say it is the same, but I think it has to do with the height and width of the back seats, which are more suited for adults in the BMW.
In any case, test drive them and you will pick the s6: you come out of the 550 thinking "what a powerful car" but your turn off the s6 engine and say "I want to buy this now".

That's a very good comparsion, pretty much how I felt. I'm disapointed that audi did away with there free maintenence program but I love the car, BMW is a great car and they hold there value very well I have ownwed them in the past also MB which takes a beating on resale so I'm hoping down the road this car won't drop 50% like the MB. Overall the car is awesome even though I only have 300 miles on it.
