BMW M3
Hey guys, i was wondering what yall thought about the M3, would u say that the M3 and S4 r rivals? and what r sum performance stats on them? i havent got to run one, have any of u guys ran a M3? did u win?
M3's and S4's are definetly rivals. A stage 1/2 b5 should pull on a stock M3. Im not sure about how the b5 and b6's match up, i think that the m3 is faster in a straight line, but the s is faster in the twisties.
I really like the e46 M3s...I am not too familiar with the earlier versions.....
M3 is going to have more traditional sports car feel, it is lighter and rwd makes it very tossable in corners...no understeer. I think the topgear video shows the m3 is faster in a straight line, and surprisingly the s4 (b6) is quicker on the road course or at least very very close.
So as far as performance the cars are very close. I would assume on a track it would come down to driver skill.

Theyre rivals in some sense. They are performance cars that are in the same price range. But youre also comparing a 4dr awd sedan vs a rwd coupe.
Performance wise.. an m3 is going to outperform a s4 stock, however the s4 is much more tunable...at least the b5 is.

If I lived in CA like I used to, I might have an M3 right now, but then again, I live in CO, and today with snow coming down and wet roads,,,I know why I have an S4. Besides, something about all weather condition ability. The B6 S4 is a bulldog and so forgiving you can turn off the ESP and have serious fun...
