Default boost leak?

I just installed my boost gauge and when i first got it my boost would spike about 17 sometimes 18 then hold at about 15 to 16, i didnt pay much attention to it after that. so after a night of racing the next day i watch the boost gauge more closely and it will spike about the same and hold 15 to 16 but it seems the higher my rpms go after that my boost just keeps dropping to about 10 then i let off cuz i cant stand the sight of it. but i was wondering if this is normal or not. ive checked for boost leaks at the common spots, i made sure the boost gauge lines werent leaking. its a 2000 s4. Thank you.

Default RE: boost leak?

the turbos become less efficient in the higher rmps causing the boost drop you see

Could have a number of things, including but not limited to the weather.

Your best bet would be to do a leak test.

Sounds ok to me, they taper off closer to redline, temp & humity will change peak boost.

If you want to make sure the car is OK, run a Vag-com log on block 115, then see if actual & requested are the same.
