Default boost leak maybe?

I posted earlier about a squealing noise when i get to 3 grand rpms. But I thinks a boost leak. How can I tell or make sure of this? It feels like it has less power.

open up the hood and see if you can hear anything at idle by getting close... or have someone rev the engine and see if you can pinpoint where its at.. my first guess was timing belt as well..

a boost leak wouldnt relaly give a squealing noise so to speak.. more of a hissing. Do you have a boost gauge. if you do are you getting the same levels of boost. you can do a pressure test, as well as get it on a vag and do some testing.

I am getting a boost gauge and turbo timer as soon as it gets here. I will check the boost pressure then, whats the normal running pressure for stock? And the squealing almost sounds like a cricket. I know that sounds weird but thats what it sound like to me and everyone that has heard it. So you think it is the timing belt?

Sounds like a possible turbo problem/boost leak. My driver side turbo did the cricket chirp for awhile and then I pulled the lower intercooler hose and had a quart of oil run out.

I have an appointment at the audi dealership around here on thursday. Its just a appointment to check everything out. Its gonna cost me 88 bucks an hour. I am going to make sure I tell him about that. I have a warrenty when i bought the car for 2 years unlimited miles. But I havnt gotten the paper work from the dealership that I bought it from yet. I am going to have to pay the 88 bucks an hour out of my pocket but im hopeing the warrenty will cover any major turbo problem like you said. I thought i was crazy for thinking it sounded like a cricket. What did you do to fix it?
