Default boost question

is it true that lower temps will require less boost. cause when the weather got cold i dont hold between 8-9 . now its like 6-7 pounds of boost.

thanks

Cold air is more dense then warm air so therefore it compresses less. i.e. less boost. Even with less boost you are still putting more air into your engine.

Colder air is denser than warmer air. This means you have more oxygen molecules for same about of air when the air is colder. For example an intake charge with a temperature of 90 and 8 psi of boost may put the same amount of oxygen in your engine as and intake charge with a temp of 50 and only 6 psi of boost.
