Default borla exhaust- piggie or no piggie?

hi guys,

been on the site shortly and have learned a lot andhave beenreading about some of the new terms, such as "darintake" which im going to check out on my car when i get home ( can't drive it now long story), but the term piggies from what i read about is still kind of newbish to me. I have the borla exhaust system in my car ( boughtthe carwith them already install) so i am wondering if this is a piggie system , and if not what can i do to help with the benefits with the piggies.
still very new to the audi scene and everything ( this is my first car) , so if someone could help out a little, i'd appreciate it greatly. thanks

kinda of got an answer from reading (searching) piggies- vast... so not the same thing. However, I love the sounds the borla makes, so would getting downpipes from vast and keeping the borla exhaust make everything great? great sound and improved performace?
thanks again

Piggie definatly worth every penny spent. Vast do some at cheap prices, i did minebut if your not use to TIG weld forget about it. It's a night and day difference W or W/O. Like 20-30 HP more and a quicker spooling too. Go for it !

don't need "TIG", could use MIG or oxygen/acetylene which is easier/cheaper to get ahold of...

From the sounds of whatVAST does, it sounds like they take out the old front cats and replace with high flow cats still leaving you with airflow reduction.

Personally I think that agood test case would be to compare two scenarios on a dyno...

1st - both downpipe cats gutted and retaining the rear cat...
2nd -rear cat gutted and thetwo downpipe catsintact...

that would be best... although in VIRGINIA, theysetup emissions traps where they figure out when you would be under excelleration, and then record the levels of exhaust fumes, and if you fail you must have your car inspected within 30 days or your plates will expire/revoked...

so you will have to coast in neutral, and have the motor shut off... haha... what a pain in the @$$... f'n government at it's best... don't get me started on hybrids..! ask me where those tree huggers are going to store the batteries after they don't work anymore..! in their basement?!? think not..!

It is an example but poor one at that... the first clip (before) was in a shop where the garage reverberates everything, and then the second part (after) was outside in a parking lot or something, which certainly doesn't have the same acoustics. They nearly sound the same other than the fact he nearly redlined in neutral in the example of after install... didn't mommy tell you that neutral redline or high rev'ing is BAD for your motor...!
