My car has an AWE exhaust, which I love. The problem is at slower speeds, any sound difference from the exhaust rumble causes the stereo volume to go up and down driving me nuts. This feature can't be shut off on the Bose(the option doesn't show up in the menu, and yes, I've read the manual). Does anyone know where the microphone is that senses the interior noise volume so that I can cover it up or unplug it or something?

 

I think I read that there is a secret way to turn it off thru the climate controls or holding radio controls but I only found the hidden equalizer. Maybe someone else knows.

 

yes, there is, search for the radio contols on here, there is a way to turn the sensitivity of it to 0.

I tried the tips I found on the threads, none of them seem to work, including the EQ thing. I have a 2005 with a Symphony 2 Bose. It doesn't have a P.Scan button. Any more ideas out there?

 

After a lot of searching, I found out this Bose feature is called AudioPilot Noise Compensation. I sent an email off to Bose, maybe they will help? It is adjusted by interior cabin noise, frequency and loudness, not speed as the older SCV posts show.

 

Are you sure your car has that? I thought only the 8's and 6's had it. On those cars you can turn it off via the mmi.

 

What's an mmi?

 

MMI=multi media interface. Its got the screen in the dash with the controls by the shifter.

 

Okay, don't have that. I found that holding preset 1 or 2 while turning on, I forget, makes the screen come up with SVC off. The manual says that I have Dynamic Noise compenstion on the Bose units, and that it does have an internal microphone, it also states that this eliminates the SVC, but doesn't say anything about adjustment. Hopefully Bose will come through on their tech support.
