Default Bought a B5 S4 - Time to Start Modding!

I purchased a bone stock 2001 S4 last week and it is time to start the mods. I decided to go with a GIAC chip as the dealer is relatively close to me. Is there anything that needs to be done with the addition of the chip? I.E. Diverter Valves and TBB.

Where should I go from here considering I have a limited budget as I overextended myself a little bit on the car. Are there mods that I can do with limited mechanical skills?

I would love to post some pics but it keeps saying the file is to large. Is there any way around this?

with a chip, youll need to upgrade the dv... since your car is bi-turbo, youre gonna need two new ones. you could go with forge 007s, baileys, etc... but cheapest and best bang for you buck would be the 710n (oem part offa the 225 tt)

The chip, dvs, tbb, exhaust, and short shifter are probably about as far as you are going to want to go with limited skills. And after that things start breaking and it gets expensive.

So with a chip you must upgrade to the DVs as well?

Also whats the best chip for the buck?

And the DV's I know it's personal opinion, but what has proven itself to be worth the money more than the others?

I love my giac chip, I had the APR and swapped a friend for her giac when she sold her s4. The GIAC seems much more powerful. As far as the DV I went with Forge, but baileys or just 710n's seem to hold up well for the money. The TBB is also a personal prefferance but the samco is much cheaper than a APR bipipe and I haven't had a problem even with bigger turbos.

Yup from Oshkosh. There is a GIAC dealer in Liberty Illinois, Dubwerks I believe. That is the closest place I found for the Chip.

Will definately take you guys up on that offer. This is my first real experience in the tuning world. I still have a URS4 that I bought five years ago but I never modded it. I would like to start off with what I can afford, but if I get carried away the banks got lots of money.

customer of mine has the GIAC and it is pretty nice. But really you cant go wrong with any of the big 3, (apr, revo, giac) they are all fast. Also take a look at Unitronic, i am close to start endorsing these guys, they are still down to earth and will do custom programming, and make impressive numbers. Also i alsways reccommend the tt diverter valve, not cause it better, cause its not worst than the 150 dollar ones. some guy did some insane testing of 3 very common aftermarket dv's and they were minimal in difference to the stock tt valve.
