Default Buying a S4?

Ok so I sold my a4. Now I have about 17,000 to spend things have changed and once again I have started looking at Audi’s particularly s4's. What problems should I look out for when looking for a clean non abused s4? For My budget what do you think I’m looking at? I would like to stay between the 1998+ years. Thank you, I would like to once again join this great community of Audi owners.

haha there is prob no such thing as a none abused S4. but u can def find a B5 S4 for a pretty good price for what ur looking for with pretty dec mileage. Ive been finding some around me around $17k $18k with 65+ miles. When ur looking at S4, make sure all the fluids r toped off, and the oil is clean, and filled. If you see this, the owner took good care of the car, and thats what ur looking for. gluck.

Im looking into buying an S4 as well. There is a 2002 B5 with 46k, some crazy blue color going for $27,000. Is this a good model year to look at? Price? Im looking to drive this a year until prices come down on the B7 so i dont want anything like turbos going out! Any suggestions?

The price could come down like 2K to be a good price. It depends on where u are. If u dont wnat the turbos to go out u should be fine iwth mileage just dont chip it. The 2002 is teh last year of teh B5 s4 and i think its a good year. a B7? U should get teh S4 B7 or even better get the RS4!

HI...

I am new here and was origionally looking into the A4 1.8t AWD but now I am thinking that it is going to be to slow. So, someone mentioned these S4 and I have been checking them out. I found a yellow 2001 2.7T AWD 6 speed/manual and the asking price is 22k w/43,000 miles on it. Sound like a good price????? I found the exact same car in red but W/O the turbo at 16k with only 28,000 miles on it. I would really like to keep it under 20k.

Now, do the turbos really make a difference stock??? Or do these have to be chipped to do anything. Also why after you chip them are you guys saying that the turbos go out??? Within how many miles would you say??

I was thinking that i would offer at least $2-3k less than asking. BTW im in Portland, OR.

As for the B7 S4 or RS4....that would be a dream at the moment until i get a little more cash saved up
