Default Can you help me verify my Brake plans/ parts list?

Recently purchased a 2000 S4 and have been reading a lot since. The car has some vibration about 60mph and I am told it is likely caused by warped rotors as OEM replacement rotors seem to warp as a result of the materials used. I am looking to replace my current Brake set-up with the following but wanted some suggestions before doing so:

Stoptech Cryo-Sport Stop Rotors
StopTech Cryo-SportStop Drilled Rotor
128.33096CL
128.33096CR
128.33067CL
128.33067CR

Hawk Pads HPS Street
Hawk HPS Street brake pads
HB363F.689
HB364F.642

I am curious if anyone has used these parts and could suggest one way or another as to a brand set-up that might avoid this warping problem in the future. I would prefer a drilled and/or slotted rotor and I've heard nothing but good things about Hawk pads.

Any input would be more than apprecaited!

that set-up is fine. i run brembo slotted rotors, hawk pads and goodridge lines. the pads are a little noisy, but stop well. i would seriously consider getting stainless steel lines as well. youre not really gonna feel any difference unless you get the lines.

powerslot has good slotted rotors too. might want to check out adams rotors. good prices. big selection.

Which Hawk pads did you go with? I see a few options on tirerack.com I'll look around a bit more for

Hawk HP Plus Race brake pads

Hawk HPS Street brake pads

Hawk Performance Ceramic Pads

Hawk Blue 9012 Track Only Pads

Looking for an equal mix of bite and quiet. Tirerack's website seems to suggest that the HPS's are quieter then the HP's. Have you tried the Performance Ceramic Pads?

I'll look more into 88 Rotors. As it sits right now it looks like I can buy the Stoptechs for cheaper than Adams Rotors. Power Slot seems to be a little out of the range I'd like to be within.

I would make sure it's your rotors first before you buy all that stuff. Vibrations at 60 MPH could be a number of different issues besides something in your brake system.

Could be a bent rim
Out of balance tire
Bad TRE
Bad CV Joint (I had this and it would vibrate pretty good on the highway)
ETC....

^^Thanks for the input, I will check into those areas in specific. I know the tires are a bit uneven as the previous owner had to replace one within the last few months, either way they are summer tires and the car is set a bit low for our winters here so I plan to raise it up and get everything aligned here in the next week.

I'm thinking it will likely be spring before I have everything together for the brakes. I keep thinking to do SS lines and maybe powdercoat the calipers while I'm tearing everything apart. At this stage I guess I'm curious of preferences among the forum on products as I'm new to Audi in general. I've always heard great things about StopTech and Hawk and figure they are fairly fool proof but if there's comparable products that surpass these I'd be open to suggestion.

Thanks for the post! I'll start with tires and some of the more basic suspension components before I make the leap but the vibrations seems to be most noticable in the brake pedal itself as opposed to the steering wheel. I do see how the other areas could affect this. I just planned to upgrade the brakes either way I guess. Great input, thanks again!

if you properly bed the pads there shouldn't be any noise. i havent tried the ceramic pads. both vast and ecs sell brake kits you might want to look into.
