just pick up a VIS or FI hood from ebay or somehting they can be had as low as $500 shipped. Then have it painted however u want.

VIS, is really poor, it's wavy, has gaps, & the front doesn't line up. Also the sides are about 1/8in shorter, so there are bigger gaps there. Plus VIS hoods shrink over time, cuz they are cheap! Really not that much lighter, it's more of bling, then anything else.
If you want to make the care faster, do everything else first, then go after weight. My first thing would be to change the seats, remove the AC, remove the sunroof, LTW battery in the trunk.
HAHAHA. I agree with 2k, i never go cheap. I allways go with a well known company with a good reputation and quality products even if it is more expensive. Allthough i certainly wont be spending money on a cf hood an trunk untill im full stage 3
