Cats gone bad? or misfire?
ya running your car to long with bad O2's will mess things up a lil. The O2's give input to the ecu to decide how much fuel to add or decrease. Im thinking plugged up cats. Does it sound any different when your revving it or going hard on the throttle at high RPM?
So I went to start it up to bring it to autozone. Runs fine, no shaking and have all power. So get to autozone and have them hook up the computer. Misfire cylinder 2. The o2 sensors which i knew about showed up. Also noticed under the hook that my PVC valve has a crack lenght wise on the bend. Could that add to the issue? So now that I know it is cylinder 2 misfiring where do I start? Im guessing plugs. Should I just do #2 or all 6? Is it hard to change the plugs on these cars they look like a bitch to get to?
So when I left autozone i cleared the CEL and it took about 20 minutes of driving to show up again. The o2 sensors. Drove about 5 more minutes and than went into the store. Came out in about 10 minutes later ans started it up and misfiring again. Runs like ****. Home is about 10 minutes away. About 3/4 the way home, its runngin fine again? WTF?

it sounds to me like an icm problem, or you could have moisture down around the spark plugs or an intermitten bad coil.. thing is.. what is the exact code number?? c you can have a o2 heater circuit malfunction, or high internal resistance or bank 1 sensor malfunction or bank 1 or 2 lean code, or bank 1 or 2 rich code.. WE NEED THE EXACT CODE NUMBER!!!
now that being said, an o2 sensor going bad and being lean or rich biased can cause the computer to dump fuel in the cylinder or starve a cylinder for fuel , which could cause a misfire.. but we need the exact numbers .. like P0171 and P0174 or P0302 or P0300..that way we can see the exact fault and approach this problem with the most important thing.. knowledge!!

Yea I'm guessing ICM. When my ICM went bad I had codes being thrown for the O2 sensors too. I had a few others but I can't quite remember. Try switching the ICMs and see if the misfire goes to cylinder 5. Its worth a shot.
So I went to Autozone again, on the way car was running great. Stopped at a stop sign went to go, runs like **** again. Got the codes read.
P1606
P0421
No misfire code was thrown. Both those codes are the 02 sensors. So would the o2 sensors cause the car to run like ****, or are my cats done?
