hey all, dumb pproblem, new to audis, not sure if it is an audi quirk. My CD changer just went on the fritz and now reads "no disc" even when there are discs in the changer. WTF? can i power the changer down and then back up to reset it or what?

i had this a while ago, i found that if i removed the changer cd cartridge and put it back in it was fine, tho mine was getting error messages too from a bad cd. hope it helps some.

 

I had the exact same problem with the changer in my VW GTI VR6 and they ended up having to replace the changer. Not sure what the problem was but it was replaced. If your car is under warranty, I would take it to the stealership and have it replaced.

 

i have an extended aftermarket warranty, so i will have to look into it. Is this type of thing usually covered by aftermarket warranties? I will try some different CD's too.

 

The aftermarket warranty would probably not cover something like that. You could always call and ask though?? The laser in the changer is probably bad? Sorry I couldn't be much help.

 

yeah im not sure. The weird thing is that it doesnt even cycle through the discs to see if there are any discs in the magazine. Is it possible a little trigger point on the magazine just isnt tripping the sensor?

 

got the same problem.......sometimes works fine and sometimes reads No Disk. .......some cd's work some not....
