You guys don't know anything. It's obviously a trunk protector, and protects the paint from the harmful UV Rays of the sun in that desert climate. He's just trying to protect his investment because he is a TRUE Audi enthusiest.

maybe that would look good on a integra or something... but that just killed the european touch... he should have just gotten a nice trunk Lip.

While it doesn't look good on that car, it's the Audi touring car race wing! It looks nice on the real race car B5 S4's.
On a street car it just looks silly.

I can't find any real good pics of them on a S4, but they used to use it a few years back.

 

A wing on a race car always makes sense, if it improves lap times.

The new DTM cars still have a large wing at almost all of the tracks.
