Chip?
Hey,
I know this has a good chance of starting war, but I am getting a chip ASAP.
What chip should I go with, GIAC, or APR 93oct.
Anybody have documented proof that one is better than the other?

I just got the APR and i love it. They're all good so just pick one and go with it. I like the APR because of the ability to switch between stock/chipped with the cruise control. Check out the websites www.giacusa.com and www.goapr.com. Theres also the REVO and a couple other ones. As far as which one is better I have no idea, I've tried searching these forums and found absolutely nothing... Although a lot of these questions have never been answered on these forums or at least enough times to be able to search and actually find something, the Search ***** seem to think so.
I dont know.. It seems to be that general opionion would say GIAC is the fastest, but harshest.. MTM is most reliable, but not as strong.. and APR is in the middle. But I dont knwo if i really by into that... ive seen fast cars in all models.. so I think its all the same really. Just pick one.
Yeah - I think local support and familiarity is key. That being said I did have a problem with the APR chip - seemingly...that was fixed upon switch out to GIAC chip. I am having an issue now - with (intermitent) engine halting/bucking between 4-5K rpm that I suspect might be related to chip and programming - but don't know for sure...
After all that I researched, and being a previous owner of a apr chip in my a4, I went with the apr chip in my s4 as well. Now not to sound conceided or anything but as of right now, I have the fastest stage 1 s4 in the country, sitting at 13.0009 @ 104.94
The tests in these links were done quite some time ago, and apr has since redone their chips with the v5 module, also the 13.0009 is on the 100 oct map as well. Well enjoy the comparisons

your pulling a 13.0 on 261 whp? if so then u must be able to drive.......Because that is a damn good time. What is your list of bolt ons?
