Default chip question

Hi guys, is there any way to tell what chip I had. I was told that it was giac when I bought the car, but I have no idea. It runs from 15-18 lbs boost so Iknow it is chiped but I would like to know what chip I have.

If it's chipped, you can take the cover off of the ECU and look at the actual chip itself, there should be an emblem on it.

If it's flashed, you might have to try plugging in a laptop with the GIAC flashloader installed, see if it recognizes the ECU flash, or you can try switching programs using the cruise control button if it's APR.

Not sure how you'd know if it's been flashed by another like Dhalback or MTM.

Can you ask the previous owner?

APR runs more that 14.5 psi. More like 18psi, if it only ran 14.5 it wouldnt be nearly as fast as other chips, and it is.

Yah, from what I've seen the newer stuff from APR and GIAC are almost identical. GIAC might be a little bit more aggressive, but not much.

I don't know much about APR's K04 tunes. Are they shitty? Or are you talking about running an APR K03 tune on K04s?

I mean k04's on a APR k03 tune. GIACx works better. APR k04 tunes tend to be on the conservative side if i recall, i think you can only get them with the rediculous $9000 kit.
