Chips with K04s
I have a 2002 S4 and will be getting it chipped next month....finally! I'm going with the APR. It's appears to be a little less agressive which I'm OK with as hopefully it will place less strainon the K03s. My question is, when my K03s go, and we know they will, and I replace them with K04s, how much benefit will the chip continue to provide with the K04?
You get a new "flash" for the K04's. Since the K04's flow a TON more CFM, there will be big benefits for having some sort of flash on there. With K04's you really need to add more fuel.

here is my 2 cents on APR.
first off let me say this about people thinking that having APR tuning will some how not be then end of your turbos, because it is not that aggressive. any time you increase the boost on ko3's past there stock setting you are that much closer to blowing your turbos..
the best defence is good suporting mods and proper matience with over all car care.
as for the ko4's and tuning. I would further advise you to now step away from the APR tuning. APR has not suported the 2.7t market with new products for quite some time now. there development has (as I understand it) completely stoped.
if you want APR tuning you have to buy the complete kit (you can't just get the tuning seperate) with the inflation in there priceing it puts the hope of the ko4's and tuning out of the reach of most of us.
I'm not saying that my way is best but I went with vast. there is only one file and it works with both ko3's and ko4's. all you have to do when you get the ko4's is get a few extra parts for around 1200 dollars as aposed to 2500 or 3000.
sorry if I come across as a preacher but some of the up selling the big companys do is kind of upsetting. just thought you would like to know what you are looking into
