cons of a tip chip?

RE: cons of a tip chip?
S4sick, your tranny is completely different from the B5 tranny. On almost every car, whenever you change the engine, you need a completely different tranny. Every tranny is made specifically for the engine it is placed against. On top of that, your ECU is different from any other ecu. It stands for Engine Control Unit, meaning it controls every aspect of the engine. Therefore, if you have a completely different engine, you will have the same difference in the ecu. In fact, there were either two or three different ECU's placed in the single B5 platform. Basically, nothing electronic, let alone mechanical, will transfer from the B5 platform to the B6 (or 8E). Now, when it comes to racing a VR4, the B5 would wax it with the chip alone. But since you aren't talking about racing it with the B5, your chances lower drastically. All of their torque is japanese, ie it is at high end. Their awd launch is going to be nothing like yours. You will feel an immediate victory off the line, but don't feel too cocky, cause he'll catch up right when your tranny shifts from first to second, and you'll have to see what happens from there.
