I really like the B6 exterior and the 4.2 is a solid engine. My concern is regarding the Avant vs. Sedan. This isn't a question about the exterior and looks, but merely about performance factors. I've read that the Avant has a better drag coefficient, but that it weighs more. Other than that, are there any other considerations to make in regards to performance?

I searched briefly, but didn't dig too deep. Any advice is appreciated!

 

I wouldent base my decision on performance. I bet there have the same specs. I know the B5 wagon and sedan are the same size. eitherway I wouldent base it on performance, do you like the Sedan or Avant better?

 

I like both, whichever I can get the best deal on. There are many variables. I'm not basing my sole decision on this. I have still yet to drive either of them. Never really been up close and personal in fact.

 

avant for the lose, something about a station wagon....

I like the B6 cars but I don't think I'd give up my b5 S4 for a b6 S4.I mightpick up a b6 1.8t for a daily commuter car and throw some tint and rims on it and lower it but I don't think I'd rock an avant.

 

At this point in my life im not ready to rock an avant. I say go with the sedan. Im sure you wont be able to tell the difference performance wise.

Only thing about the 4.2 is you cant mod it as much. About as far as id be willing to go is full exhaust, intake, and a chip. Im sure you will fall in love with the interior though, its so sexy. that 4.2 will make you happy
