Is this cost justified for replacing brake pads & tires
I just had my S4 serviced today and my local Audi dealership wants to charge me:
$835 for replacing my Michellin Sport Tires
$810 for the front brake pads and rotors (4 MM left on front and 8 MM left on back)
$395 for a cracked belly pan
I know I can get the tires for about $600 at a Costco, but would you guys recommend coughing up the money for the rest of the repairs?
I certainly don't know how important the belly pan is but I was planning on buying a big brake kit over the summer. However my advisor from Audi said that I only had 1000-1500 miles left... should I replace the pads now or wait?
And can anyone give me any information the cracked belly pan and its importance?
thanks in advance

Here is the belly pan. If you can find one cheaper please post it for others who may be looking also.
B6 and B7 belly pans ARE the same also.

Gather your courage, and your wenches and do the brakes at least by yourself! I did my own front pads this past summer. First time ever doing brakes. There is waaaay too much information on the interweb on how to do your brakes not to do it yourself. Pictured step by step. The one I followed had a pretty skinny blond girl doing her own brakes by herself in her driveway. Oh and if all that isn't motivation enough; front pads: $50. Front rotors: $120, a little cheaper for the rears.
Now are you gonna be a man or are you gonna bend over for Audi?

Tires? holy cow that is crazy! I JUST replaced all 4 tires. BF Goodrich all season rated: 460, AA, A. Some of the top rated tires and got them for $400 shipped to my door from tirerack.com Walmart put them on mounted and balanced for $10 a tire.
Cracked belly pan? You know what that is right? Frillys. afterthought engineering add ons. It is a sound baffle. Some take them off all together for easier repeated mechanical access or weight loss for racing.
